The second management meeting was held on the 25th April at former RAF Binbrook and was attended by the complete committee, after completing the standard agenda,(Present, Apologies for absence, Minutes, and matters arising) the committee went into a long and detailed discussion concerning the up and coming East Midlands Ham and Electronics Rally

The Key point were:

  • That over 34 radio clubs have had a targeted invitation to both attend and/or trade.
  • Over 200 A5 brochures have been produced for distribution at the Foxton Rally and the more local Thorpe Camp rally.
  • web entries are present on the RSGB rallies page and with radiorallies.org
  • The RSGB has been invited but currently awaiting confirmation from them.
  • The Main hall is virtually fully booked so more under cover trading space is to be investigated.
  • Andrew M0OOO has a second hand “Guide” tent that might be pressed into use with the costing changed to £8.00 for tent and £6.00 for outside space.
  • The time table defined in more detail as was the staffing on the day.
  • Catering arrangements completed.
  • Venue site layout map produced and agreed with ample space for traders, camping and free car parking.

The meeting went on to discuss arrangement for VE day (week):

  • Setting up on the 7th and packing up on the 11th.
  • Operating on both HF and VHF using the call GB1BK.
  • Using both AM and SSB on HF with the possibility of FT8 and SSTV while running FM on VHF.

Operation of a Special Event Station during July was agreed in principal. So a very busy meeting. Full minutes have been distributed to all EMERG members.
